You got hard done by the referee against Everton, what was your view on things?
Yeah, I thought the decision by the ref was outrageous. It was a terrible tackle on Bernard. It wasn't even below the knee but above the knee and they got the penalty resulting from it. A point would have been an ok result for us but we kind of ripped off, with Campbell making the most of being bundled over too, but in fairness probably any striker would have done that. We have to focus now on the champions league and securing our position with the top three.
How do you prepare for Manchester United on Saturday?
Same as any game really. They're a top-class team so we have to be at our best to get the result we want. Obvisiously a win against Everton would have made things even more interesting for the game but that's football. It was 4:3 last year so it was very entertaining to say the least for the fans and great for us to take the points in the end, so want to repeat that. We have a free week so it might help us a bit with Man Utd. having to play Real Madrid tonight
There's alot of men coming from Donegal this weekend and they're all looking for tickets and I'm struggling to get them. They could be watching it in the pub yet.
How do you rate now Johnathan Woodgate
Quality, he was unfortunate on Saturday with Campbell going down and getting a penalty but he's a top-class player. He was unlucky with a header too, but I think the keeper put it onto the bar. If it had of been a little left or right it would have been a goal
Is everything OK with Oliver Bernard after that horrendous tackle?
Yeah, he's fine and back in training, so he's ok. He was of course pretty shook up on Sunday when the tackle happened but thankfully he's fine.
Any changes for Saturdays game?
I don't think they'll be any radical changes. Andy O'Brien came in at right-back for height on Sunday so maybe Andy Griffin might be back for Saturdays game. We don't know yet.
What's the plan for the rest of the week?
We're off tomorrow, stay at the hotel on Friday night. Eat chicken and pasta at 9 o'clock in the morning so it could be tough to get that down at so early in the morning
Rooney hit you hard on Sunday. How are you doing now?
Hurt my back a bit, been a bit sore, it's been a bit stiff, but nothing too major. I think he was hurting more to be honest! :-)
How do you rate Rooney?
He's a brilliant player. I watched him at the Worthington Cup last year from the bench and got a good view on his moves and play. He's only 17 and if he can keep his feet on the ground, he'll be an incredible talent in the premiership. He's a strong wee lad who's probably no stranger to a steak or two. (Shay has a laugh)
How do you like the new Strip?
Yeah, I like it, the goalkeeper's jerseys quite nice. We usually get multicoloured gear and have to wear sunglasses when we put it on but this new one is plain and nice. It's also nice to have a north-east sponsor aswell 'Northern Rock'.
Thanks Shay for that and we hope you have a great game on Saturday in front of the home fans.
