HAPPY BIRTHDAY Shay whose back in goals, back in business, back in contention!

It was great to be back in goals for Stoke on Monday night, but Shay’s return to action could’ve been softer. Spurs were fired up after Leicester slipped up in a 2:2 draw with West Ham. They seemed to taste the Premiership title slipping a little from Leicester, with Vardy getting sent off on a second yellow too. Will the wheels come off the Leicester title surge? We’ll have to wait and see, but Tottenham aren’t going to worry about it too much. Instead they seemed more than determined to show England that they’re not finished yet and sent out a very strong message to the other contenders, particularly Leicester. Were some of the Stoke players already on holidays or were Tottenham just too fired up for it all. I’d go with the latter explanation, as they showed they had plenty to play for and demonstrated too, just how strong a team they currently are. Shay kept the score from getting worse at times, but it should have been another 2 goals if Tottenham had’ve taken their obvious chances. Shay and Stoke were relieved if they’re honest, that the scolding wasn’t more severe. But back to Shay, he’s back in contention for Saturday’s game away to Manchester City and if he remains in the Stoke team, will be back for Ireland hopefully in the Summer. 🙂 All to play for.
