Yo Shay – back to your old stomping ground tomorrow!!! I’m a Newcastle fan and must admit it’s going to be weird seeing you in those goals again, especially for the opposition!!! Hope you have a good day (but not TOO good!!!) and get the brilliant reception you deserve. Best of luck, Shay.

    Dear Shay,

First of all, congrats on getting into the team of the week!!

My name is Gordon Stuart, I am 23 and I am a lifelong Newcastle United supporter and fan of yourself. I am organising a charity football match in the summer of this year to raise money for two charities, Cerebra, who are a UK brain injury charity and Alzheimer’s Society. Both charities are very close to my heart as my little brother, who suffered a brain injury at the age of 9 months old has been supported by cerebra and alzheimer’s society has helped my grandfather who is suffering from the disease at present.
I understand that you have your own charities that you help but I was wondering if you might be interested in playing in the game to help raise interest as an ex-Newcastle player and legend as the game will be played in or near Newcastle. The game will be a team of Newcastle Legends vs a team of local players.I’d be grateful if you could reply. I have already made contact with Nikos Dabizas who is interested in playing aslong is it doesn’t confilct with when he is on his coaching badge course.

Even if you are unable to play I’d hope that you might be able to help with getting some other footballers and ex-Newcastle players involved.

If you want anymore information please let me know and I will happily provide.

Many thanks and hope to speak to you soon.

    Gordon Stuart

Shay, I’m a Manchester City supporter, that still watches all your matches with Aston Villa. You certainly must know that you are still very much admired and supported by every City fan! I do hope that you can help both Aston Villa and City on April 15th, with a much-needed win for Villa against United. So, I send my best wishes from overseas and I’ll be cheering you on and hoping that you finish the season, by allowing the least amount of goals past you! Wishing you every success and the best of health and luck always…With special healing thoughts for Stan, as well– EP

  4. I think the first goal was bitter for Aston Villa… and gave Villa a real blow after only 7 minutes played.
