Shay underwent surgery on his injured right shoulder in London on Wednesday night, and early indications are that the operation went well. Shay picked up the injury during the warm-up for the Europa League tie against Aris in Thessaloniki last Tuesday. At first he felt a minor twinge, and recovered to take his place on the bench. Shay has apparently hurt his other shoulder in training and needs to see a specialist about any action necessary to get himself fit again and in contention at Man City.
Man City are away tonight in the UEFA cup against Aris Salonika in Greece. I kind of hoped that Shay would get a game in goals, but just saw that he’s on the bench. Pity. Keep your chin up Shay!

Asked after the Birmingham 2:2 result last night, Manchini was asked if he would consider replacing Joe Hart with Shay after it could be argued that Joe should’ve stopped the first goal after a minimum tough from the Birmingham striker… anythings possible in football and let’s hope for Shay sake at City too.
