Shay improving by the day!
posted @ 11:02 in [ Newcastle Utd ]

When Shay was asked about his latest injury setback, you have to give him credit for putting things in perspective, saying …

““I’ve had a punctured bowel in the past, so dislocating my shoulder was like having a tooth filled in by comparison! I’ve had pain before, it’s part and parcel of football and it’s about how you deal with it.”It seems that people with that kind of spirit are not kept down easily. Shay is setting his target on returning for the 14th of August and also wants to be part of the Republic of Ireland’s new Stadium opening too:

“In my own mind I am really confident that I’ll be fit by August 14th. I’m hoping to have had a few games by then, there’s an international in Dublin on the 11th when we open the new stadium there and I would love to be part of that.”

What’s the old saying “You can’t keep a good man down”. :-)
Well done Shay.

Shay, you’re a credit to your profession! You suffer all these crippling injuries but always take it it on the chin and just get on with it – you’re a real star! Good luck for the coming season. DC

Shay is a legend in newcastle and is missed so much. It is so insulting to see him on the bench as he is 1 of the best goalkeepers in the business, granted that hart is doing well but shay is the shearer of goalkeepers. Comeon’ mancini shay deserves more respect then this
