A bitter night for the men in Green!!!
posted @ 02:30 in [ Newcastle Utd ]

I haven’t seen the replay yet, but it seems we’ve been cheated out of a place in South Africa by a hand ball goal. That’s a hard one to swallow, no matter who you are…

France and Ireland draws closer
posted @ 10:07 in [ Newcastle Utd ]

Nobody said getting to South Africa would be easy, but France is quite a giant to overcome to get there, but don’t we all love the David versus Goliath stories. I reckon Ireland can pull it off. Of course I’m Irish so I’m as biased as you can get! Rock on IRELAND!!

City drop 2 points and 2 places after draw with Burnley
posted @ 12:44 in [ Newcastle Utd ]

When you hear of a team like Burnley coming to Manchester City, you kind of think of a three pointer hitting the headlines on a Saturday night, but this year’s teams are full of energy and ability and not prepared to come for a sight-seeing tour. City have still had a great start to the campaign but they will be disappointed not to be up there challenging the top three.

Man-of-the-match performance from Shay Given
posted @ 13:12 in [ Newcastle Utd ]

Birmingham manager Alex McLeish was full of praise for Shay saying: “I have now seen three games in a row where we have produced quality and consistency and only a man-of-the-match performance from Shay Given stopped us from winning. That is why Manchester City paid good money for him. They say great keepers can save you 10 points during a season. That has been proven over the years and we have just seen a terrific keeper capable of that sort of thing.”

Shay ‘Man of the Match’ against Birmingham in point gained!
posted @ 12:03 in [ Newcastle Utd ]

There doesn’t seem to be any place that’s giving away points for free. Shay and Man City had to fight hard to get something out of this, where you would’ve hoped before the game, that Man City have the quality to take all points, but there’s no real bad teams in the Premiership and everybody lifts their game anyway against Man City. Well done Shay and City for taking what could be a valuable point out of this encounter.
