You don’t mind losing if you’re played off the pitch, but to lose to a ‘handed’ goal, it’s bitter… the Irish deserved to even win the game! Oh dear… this was not a glorious evening for French football. I got apologies everywhere for the hand ball goal this morning in the Hotel here in Paris…

I haven’t seen the replay yet, but it seems we’ve been cheated out of a place in South Africa by a hand ball goal. That’s a hard one to swallow, no matter who you are…
