Today it seems that it’s clear, they’ll be no replay. I think the consensus is that if France wanted to give one, FIFA would’ve consented, but the French manager and the French Football Association didn’t want to offer a replay, so none will be given.

Every time I answer the phone, it seems that everyone wants to discuss the goal that put Ireland out of the World Cup. I can’t imagine how much the players must feel this. Sport seems to have injustices at all levels. Is it something we all have to live with? or do you think in the interests of “sport” and “fairness”, something can be done? What are your thoughts?
You don’t mind losing if you’re played off the pitch, but to lose to a ‘handed’ goal, it’s bitter… the Irish deserved to even win the game! Oh dear… this was not a glorious evening for French football. I got apologies everywhere for the hand ball goal this morning in the Hotel here in Paris…
