“Given City deal done!?” herald, ireland
posted @ 18:49 in [ Newcastle Utd ]

The Herald in Ireland are claiming that Man City have finalised a deal with Newcastle about the transfer fee for Shay. Whether that’s true or not, we don’t know. We’ll have to wait and see. Here’s what they wrote:

“DEAL done! Shay Given will put eleven years of loyalty and chaos behind him to move to Manchester City after Mark Hughes finally offered enough to prise him loose from Newcastle.”

What a blow if its true!!!. to be honest I can’t blaim him, he’s been a loyal emloyee for 11 years and saved the club millions by not being relegated.

My only worry is Man City will use him for 2/3 years.

At least at Newcastle he would of certainly had better options after he retires 5/7 years. By then wwe would have Shearer as manger and pushing for the league – we can all dream.

whatever happens good luck and thanks for all highs you have given this Newcastle fan.

Thannks for the last 11 Years shay but i can’t believe you have made the choice of money rather then waiting for arsenal / man utd to make an offer in the summer.

Never respect you in the same way for going to city instead of a Big Club.

Shay isn’t off for the money! In a bid to keep him, Newcastle matched the wages Man City are offering – so he really DOES want out!
