Who would’ve put money on Newcastle salvaging a point from league-leaders Chelsea. Shay put in a ‘man-of the match’ performance as did so many on the team where Newcastle battled the whole way for a deserved point. Well done the Toon! It must’ve been a very happy dressing room at the end!

To say it’s tight in the Premiership this year would be apart from Chelsea an understatement. Newcastle could have jumped almost 5 places if they had’ve taken all three points on Sunday, but taking none left them down where no fan wants to see them. The must win against Wigan at home puts added pressure on the team but it’s a pressure that they probably will rise to and pull three vital points to springboard them back up the table and out of the ‘relegation’ talk. We know they’ll do it!
