If anyone only saw the first half, you’d have thought, “Okay, Everton will come out in the second-half and try and destroy Newcastle within 20 minutes … but Newcastle delivered a sucker blow to Everton through Stephen Taylor before half-time and another one on the 47th minute through Damien Duff. Both goals were actually very good and well worked. De facto is that Newcastle should possibly have left with all three points with Everton scrambling off the line in the last minutes. Shay had one major save to make to keep Everton at bay so he equally played his part. You could see the confidence rising in the second-half. Newcastle sure didn’t look overawed by anything. Everton looked more like away from home in the second-half, so fair dues to the players and management for a much improved looking Newcastle. You kind of feel like the first three points are just around the corner if this is any performance to go by. Rock on the lads.
